'So You Think You Can Dance': Karen and Victor are eliminated from the contest

After five weeks of performances on "So You Think You Can Dance" the top 20 have lastly been narrowed down to the top 10 with the elimination of Karen and Victor from the contest. I predicted in an former blog that Karen and Victor would be leaving the show, and that is precisely how things went down last night. The only real surprise of the night was when season favorites Ellenore and Ryan were voted into the base three couples. I was beautiful shocked by this because they were one of the stronger couples of the night, right at the top with Ashleigh and Jakob and Kathryn and birthright. There are so many good dancers this season, that it only makes sense that high-quality dancers will sometimes land in the bottom. And as management producer and jury Nigel Lithgoe said, the pair shouldn't look at it as being voted into the bottom, they just weren't voted into the top 6. The top 10 dancers have protected a place in the "SYTYCD" live tour and they continue on into the contest next week when all current couples will be split apart and draw new partners at random. Also, next week marks the first week in the competition where the American public really votes for the one guy and one girl who will depart the competition.
